SCHOLARSHIPS

Wesleyan Potters has scholarships and student aid for both adults and young people. These grants are available for all classes listed in the Classes directory. Application must be made no later than four weeks prior to the first session of class.

This is a list - in alphabetical order by last name - of our current faculty. You will find some of their credentials and accomplishments posted here.

Lanette Barber – BFA SUNY-New Paltz; BS Quinnipiac College. Exhibits nationally including SOFA-NYC, Ironwood Gallery, Jeffrey Weiss Gallery. Widely published. Teaches at Guilford Art Center, Creative Arts Workshop, Brookfield Craft Center.

Dan Bellows - Studied with Mary Risley at Wesleyan University. Maintains his studio in Great Barrington, MA since 2002. Teaches at Great Barrington Waldorf School as well as IS183 Art School of the Berkshires. Exhibits regionally.

Liz Blodgett - BFA, Art Education, Virginia Commonwealth University, VA. Coursework completed for M.A. in Art Education at The Ohio State University, OH. Overseas Art Educator teaching Elementary Art in Panyu, China and in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

Ryan Bothamley – MFA Rochester Institute of Technology, BFA Portland School of Art. Former Studio manager at Wesleyan Potters. Currently teaches high school Art in Durham, CT.

Maishe Dickman - Studied at Peasant Pottery in North Africa in 1974, and received a B.S. in Industrial Design, University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, 1970. Dinnerware designer for Dansk, a member of the American Craft Council and has taught at Creative Arts workshops and Art Park.

Gina Dunlap – Studied jewelry making at the Jewelry Arts Institute, New York; Chelmsford College, England; The Cromwell House Group, Cambridge, England and Goldsmith’s Hall, London. Taught Metalsmithing and jewelry making at Chesterton College, Cambridge, England, Guilford Art Center, and Brookfield Craft Center. Maintains a studio in Wallingford, CT.

Linda Edwards – MFA, BFA, BA Kansas State University. Has taught at Creative Arts Workshop, Guilford Art Center, Albertus Magnus and KSU. She exhibits nationally.

Lucy Fagella - BFA, Ceramics,Alfred University. Maintains her studio, Lucia Pottery in Greenfield,MA. Her work has been featured in “500 Cups” and “500 Pitchers” by Lark Publications. Her funerary urns have been featured in “The Crafts Report” and the “Studio Potter Journal.”

David Frank – BA Goddard College; special study, Wesleyan University. Has taught at Guilford Art Center, and Creative Arts Workshop, New Haven. Pottery exhibited in the northeast since 1971.

Justin Gerace – BFA New Hampshire Institute of Art, Manchester, NH. Taught at New Hampshire Institute of Art and has exhibited work nationally since 2005. Co-owner of Behind the Wheel Pottery LLC. Maintains own studio in Southington, CT.

Anne Graham - BS Trinity College. 14+ years of weaving experience. Taught Fall 2009 and Summer 2010 at Wesleyan Potters. Co-Chair, Handweavers Guild of CT 2009 Biennial Show.

Matthew Kabel - Former store manager of Midtown Photo, Middletown for over 39 years and is a Certified Photographic Consular through the Photo marketing Association. Has taught adult education classes in CT. as well as being a wedding and event photographer.

Marcy LaBella – Ceramic Sculptor and Jeweler. Studied at SCSU and Middlesex Community College. Exhibits her work regionally.

David McLellan – BS and MS (Art Education) Southern Connecticut State University. Professional potter. Former studio manager at Wesleyan Potters.

Gary O’Neil – Institute Allende - San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, 1975; MALS Wesleyan University; BFA Maryland Institute. Teacher, Connecticut schools.

Robert Riggs - 15 years of experience with clay. Has taught classes at Berlin High School. Has attended multiple workshops with nationally known artists. Currently Studio Manager at Wesleyan Potters.

Kathleen Rude – BFA Ceramics, Alfred University. Maintains and teaches at her own studio, KHR Pottery. Teaches at Guilford Art Center, Guilford and Memorial Middle School, Middlefield. Exhibits in CT galleries.

Janney Simpson – BA Skidmore College; Goucher College. Has taught at Handweavers Guild of Connecticut and River Stone Design.

Lee Segal – BFA, Ceramics, University of Santa Cruz, California. Workshop instructor as well as full time potter. Runs “All Fired Up” Studio/Gallery with his partner in Newport, RI.

Deb Staub – A.B. Bryn Mawr College, M. Ed. Goucher College. Teacher at University of New Haven, Guilford Art Center, Studio Potter. Deborah Staub Pottery, Madison, CT.
