I started with clay in high school. Throwing came easily for me. I didn’t work in clay for about 10 years after high school until I took several classes in Hartford.

Nature and organic forms inspire me. I like to use my pots as a canvas to express a theme. Most of my work is non-functional. I try not to plan what will decorate my work. I prefer to create on the fly, taking inspiration from the shape of the pot and whatever pops into my head. I enjoy making large pots because it gives me a larger canvas to work with. I also enjoy Raku pottery and pit firing. The effects from the fire and smoke make each piece unique.
