I like to combine wheel thrown and hand-built elements to create organic pieces. The natural world provides an endless inspiration of textures, colors, and forms. The process of working with clay is immensely satisfying. It is both Zen and dynamic -  I like having “long conversations” with my work – sketching/preparing, pushing the clay to its limits, then having it retaliate by cracking or falling apart, and then finally repairing and reworking it into something that is, oftentimes, different and even better than what I originally imagined.
