You are invited to join us in the studio on Saturday, October 15 at 4:00 pm to hear visual artist and art educator Jillian Hirsch share a presentation followed by a group discussion and Q&A session. The slide presentation will provide a background/introduction to community art projects (what, why, and how to get started) and several case studies. A reception will follow, providing an opportunity to meet Jillian and network with like-minded individuals.
If you have an interest in a community art project collaboration between the Wesleyan Potters studio and local communities, this event is for you!
Jillian is currently a Visual Art Teacher at the L&N STEM Academy in Knoxville, Tennessee, but is soon to be a Connecticut resident! She holds a Master of Fine Arts - Ceramics School of Art - University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN and a Bachelor of Fine Arts - Ceramics + K-12 Art Education from the New Hampshire Institute of Art, Manchester NH.
Jillian's artistic practice is focused in ceramic sculpture, community engagement, and large-scale installations of tile mosaics.
