Join our own Andrea Aron for a two day workshop exploring the delightful process of Repousse and Chasing Metals. Each participant will create a finished piece of formed metal jewelry
Repousse is a process in which softened metal is formed and shaped by hammering from the reversed side to create a 3D design. Chasing is a similar technique in which the piece is hammered on the front side, sinking, texturing or defining areas. The two techniques are often used in conjunction with each other. Silver, copper or brass can be used.
Andrea Aron earned a M.A. in Art Education from Rhode Island School of Design: focus on studio work in Jewelry; Metalsmithing; Enameling, B.A. in Art Education, The College of New Jersey, Connecticut Professional Certification, Art K -12. Andrea has been a Key Member at Wesleyan Potters since 2020.
