Steph Kubish is a ceramic artist originally trained as a painter. She graduated from Endicott College in 2022 with a BFA in Studio Art and an unofficial minor in Education. Since then, Steph has delved into the world of ceramics, and it has captured her heart and become her full-time artistic pursuit.
Steph has completed residencies at the University of Hartford, Access Arts and served as the studio technician at Wesleyan Potters.
Although her artistic medium has changed, Steph discovered that the same core elements that drew her to painting still resonate in her ceramic practice. She is a detail-oriented artist who finds inspiration in the human figure, faces, and animals. These subjects have a magnetic pull on her creative process and are a recurring theme in her work.
Steph's upbringing as an only child has heavily influenced her artistic expression. She finds inspiration in the memories and wild imagination that fueled her youth. Combining nostalgia and realism, she aims to ignite a sense of emotion and connection with viewers while evoking a sense of familiarity and introspection.
