Potter, PresidentMember Since 2017

I am a hobby potter and metalsmith. I have played with clay for many years, taking classes in multiple countries/locations and more recently becoming a Key Member at Wesleyan Potters in Middletown, CT.  My work is best described as functional. I work primarily in porcelain as I love the texture and translucence of it, despite the challenges, tendency to warp and the just plain fickleness of Porcelain. I don’t know that I have a particular style yet, but I love balance and symmetry and my work tends to reflect that. I enjoy creating multiples/sets because I embrace the challenge and discipline needed. Recently I have been exploring alternative glazing techniques and am excited by the chemistry and accuracy required.

Metalsmithing/Jewelry making is relatively new to me as I have only been working in metal for the last 3 years. But I am totally hooked! I have been exploring the combination of different metals and the techniques like Keum Bo and Mokume. I am always looking for the next challenge and hope to continue my learning indefinitely.
