Stained Glass

Phoebe Katzin has her formal training in designing and constructing costumes for modern dance companies, which has been her foundational career for three decades. Phoebe’s interest in the art of stained-glass construction emerged over 12 years ago while wanting to remain creative during the times away from her work enhancing character development through costuming. She studied stained glass under the tutelage of Christopher Hayes, an internationally renowned stained-glass artist. While assisting him in his work in creating original projects she developed her own voice in the art of stained glass.  She’s participated in many museum quality repair projects of old and antique stained-glass windows for private homes & public buildings. Her love of creating stained glass is revealed in her work and her ability to teach this heritage craft at several studios in New York and New England. She loves teaching students and guiding them as they turn their imagined designs into beautiful glass art pieces.
