Basketry

Former language teacher at the Foote School, New Haven, Connecticut, where I taught French and Spanish to K-9 students for 30 years.

When the pandemic arrived, I sadly decided to retire, an unplanned event.

However, now that Covid is in the rearview mirror, I resumed a second job at the Foote School that I had started in 2011, teaching basketry to Foote's students in the after-school program.

I could not quit this second job; it gives me too much joy seeing students create beautiful baskets on their own and see their little faces sparkling with glee.

Every single basket we make is unique and full of positive energy. I love to transfer that joy of basket-making to all my students at any age. Thay are all invited to embrace the experience!
