Potters

As an undergraduate student, I took a course in Anthropology. Because of that class, I fell in love with the science of Archaeology. I enjoyed learning about the history of prehistoric civilizations through their artifacts.

Pottery has been prominent among the remnant artifacts of all civilizations going back 30,000 years. Through the study of pottery, scientists can identify dates, function and contents of the pots. I remain fascinated.

About 15 years ago, my local high school offered a 4-week course in making pottery. Even though I had never done anything like that in my life, I jumped at the chance. I had some success with it and the teacher told me about Wesleyan Potters. I soon enrolled and have been there ever since.

Today I enjoy playing with clay, experimenting with new designs, and hanging out with right brained people – a new experience for me.
