The Wesleyan Potters Gallery show, “Crossing Cultural Borders”, considers intercultural commonalities regarding mark making, form, shape, and texture. It draws cultural interconnectedness & interdependence in ceramics from our subconscious lexicon of the familiar by combining cultural expressions and asks the viewer to recognize the innumerable ways design, cultural references, marks, and symbols are present and shared throughout history and in modern society.

At the core of “Crossing Cultural Borders” is a shared human experience based on traditions across humanity, how they are created, shaped, celebrated, and the ways comfort is conveyed & derived from our surroundings and in our relationships with one another.
